TUSCARAWAS COUNTY COURT
336 E THIRD STREET
UHRICHSVILLE, OHIO
Probation Department

The Court's Probation Department is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30PM, Monday though Friday. The Probation Department can be reached at (740)922-3653. Please enter through the main entrance of the building.

The Court also has a Community Service Program, headed by Matthew O'Hara. Community Service hours are Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Anyone with a Community Service Project should contact the Probation Department at (740)922-3653.

Supervised community service is ordered by the Court in certain traffic and criminal cases. It is an integral part of sentencing as it can be ordered in lieu of jail. It has a beneficial impact on the community as probationers must do something positive for the jurisdiction where their offense was committed.

In 2013, the Court probationers completed 14,435 man-hours of community service. The Court used probationers to  assist and be of service to the communities within the Court's jurisdiction. Probationers continued to pick up trash, shovel snow, mow, and rake leaves in the area.

The Court also has a Diversion Program for underage drug and alcohol offenders. The program allows youthful offenders to complete drug and alcohol counseling and perform Community Service in lieu of conviction, allowing first time offenders a "second chance."
